Ecole Coloniale Estates School is a "Middle School" serving the educational and developmental needs of eight to fifteen year old students (grades 4 to 8) registered both in English and French Immersion programs. Middle Schools are characterized by positive school climate, family, and community partnerships, access to technology, comprehensive guidance and support services for students and a curriculum that is challenging, integrative, and exploratory.  The school offers counseling, special education, a district Skills program, resource programs and an "advisory" program which focuses on weekly school wide themes.

A wide range of complementary courses available include 2D/3D Art, Intro and Advanced Drama,  Fitness Initiatives,  Food Studies, Foreign Languages, Hockey, Mathletics, Outdoor Education, Photography, Science Olympics, Soapstone Carving, Sports Select,  Tools/Gas Engines etc.  The school is very proud of its well supported bilingual Music and Band Programs .  A variety of extracurricular activities are available to compliment the curriculum in both athletics and academics in meeting the needs of a growing student population.
