1912: The new "moving pictures" cost 25¢ for adults and 10¢ for children.
1923: Gingham dresses cost $2.50 each.
1929: Ladies' hats, 98¢ each; silk dresses, $7.95.  Cornflakes 3 for 25¢.
1935: Nabob coffee, 45¢ a pound.  Raspberry jam, 4 pound tin, 53¢.  Safeway cinammon
            rolls, 2 dozen for 25¢.  Oranges, 1 dozen, 29¢.
1940: Kraft cheese, 2 pounds, 53¢.  Sugar, 20 pounds, $1.43.
1956: Workun's Fine Foods advertises one pound of Nabob coffee for $1.05;
            a 16 ounce jar of pickles is 25¢.
