Introduction
Over the course of reading To Kill a Mockingbird, we have looked at several poems fitting to particular themes that the novel portrays. You are going to create a photo story interpretation of one of those poems.
Process
Select one of the two poems discussed in class:
"I Should Have Caught My Unicorn When I Was Young" by Daria Witt
"The Times They Are A Changing" by Bob Dylan
"So Long Its Been Good To Know You" by Woodie Guthrie
OR find a song that you believe fits one of the themes in the novel.
You will:
| use a series of images you have collected from appropriate websites to create your interpretation | |
| narrate your poem and insert a musical background | |
| use effective transitions to move from one visual image to the next | |
| include slides with the author and title of the poem as well as a credit to your name as interpreter (text creator) | |
| make sure that your interpretation is unique, not copied | |
| acknowledge the sources where you have accessed your images |
Once you have completed your multi-media interpretation, you will write a paragraph justifying your choices of text, images and music. Answer these questions:
Why did you choose that poem or song?
What makes it relevant to the novel?
Why did you choose those images?
How do they fit with the words of your poem?
Why did you choose those transitions and special effects?
