Introduction
Cinderella is one of the most fascinating fairy tales ever written. That is probably why it has been told so many times throughout the world. The settings and characters may change, but the story and the message is the same the world over.
In this web quest you will research various aspects of another culture (India, Tunisia, Ukraine, or Peru). You will use this new information to create a Cinderella story that illustrates some of the traditions of the culture.
Task

| Look through a variety of resources. Suggestions: textbook, Internet, Diversity Works CD and other resources. Identify aspects of the culture that best illustrate the unique elements of the country you are researching. You will use this information to create an original Cinderella story for your selected country. | |

Step #6 Images and Illustrations
| find pictures to further demonstrate the unique features of the culture you have researched. Your teacher has created folders in the student shared folder. Folder names include: Setting/Celebrations/Food/Transportation/Clothing/cultural items/Jobs. | |
| Use the websites below to find pictures that best illustrate the information from your story. Place the picture in the correct folder. Rename the picture using your name. | |

| Image Selection (class Activity) Open each of the folders in the shared folder. Make a class decision as to which picture best fits your story. These pictures will be included in your presentation. |
Step #7 Oral Presentation of the above story
Your teacher will divide the story into a number of parts. Practice your part. Speak or present with fluency, rhythm, pace and with appropriate intonation to emphasize key ideas.
Step #8 Plan a Video Conference (optional)
Contact the teachers who are participating in the project. Set up a time frame and schedule for the video conference:

| We would like both classes to come up with a series of questions for each other that quiz them on the details of the story of Cinderella. Think about as many details as you can, keeping in mind that you want to try to stump your partner! |
