Students will demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of how geographic, social, cultural and linguistic factors affect quality of life in communities in India, Tunisia and Peru and the Ukraine.

3.1 Communities in the World

	Alberta's Justice System in Your Community will help grade three students gain a general understanding of how the different people in the justice system work together to maintain peace in the community. 3.2 Global Citizenship (Canada's roles and responsibilities in global citizenship in relation relationship to communities in India, Tunisia, Ukraine and Peru.

	Quality of Life Collage (students demonstrate their understanding of quality of life by creating a collage using the Kidpix, Kidspiration, or PPT program.
	Alberta's Justice System in Your Community is an on-line resource developed by Alberta Justice in collaboration with Alberta Education and justice partners. The resource provides an introductory overview of the justice system in Alberta while addressing outcomes from the Grade 3 Social Studies Curriculum.
	Ayiti: The Cost of Life What is it like to live in poverty, struggling every day to stay healthy, keep out of debt, and get educated?  Play this game and try to help a family of five in Haiti survive.
	If the World Were a Village - This animation looks at the earth's population as if it were a village of 100 people. It examines the geographic regions, the number of languages spoken and the people who speak them, the religious make up of the people and other demographic information.
