Now you are ready to begin learning more about owls.

Follow the steps on this page to complete the WebQuest. All links will open in a new window. Close the window when you are ready to look at the WebQuest page again.

1. First, think about all the things you already know about owls. (Class discussion)
2. Next, think about some things you would like to learn about owls. Work with another member of the class and write down at least 10 questions you would like to find answers for. Try to come up with some really juicy ones! It will make your research more interesting!

Your teacher will give you a copy of this graphic organizer.

Here are some ideas to get you started writing your questions:

  • Why does the owl ___?
  • Why doesn't the owl ___?
  • What..?
  • Who...?
  • Where...?
  • How long...?
  • How can we...?
  • What kind...?
  • How are ___ and ___ alike?
  • How are ___ and ___ different?
  • How are ___ and ___ related?
  • When...?
  • How far...?
  • How many...?

3. Now you are ready to start researching owls. This will be done individually. Whenever you find an answer to one of your questions, write the answer in the second column of the graphic organizer.  You should also write down where you found the answer. (Write down the number of the website where the information comes from)
