Sports Reporter

Your job is to tell us what happened in the area of sports. There are many sports you can report on. Local sports are usually more interesting to people who live there.   A surfing contest in the water off of Mission Beach may not be that interesting to Canadian viewers.

Choose three stories to report on. One should be local, one should be national and the other is your choice. Local sports news can even be Little League starting to play, or a player for the big leagues who is doing something. University and colleges are also good sources for local sports news.

Each story should include:

Introduce your story with a short paragraph about Who, Where, When and What. The second paragraph should include the How or Why. You will discover these points when you read your stories. Remember to take notes. Do this for all three of the stories you will work on. Have a meeting with the director to decide what story should be read first, second, and third. Usually the local angle is the best to start with. Make the stories interesting with cool words like : eliminated, crushed, and annihilated instead of won. Edit your work carefully, use a Thesaurus to help with interesting words.
